Phyllis R. White, age 76, lost her battle with Sarcoidosis December 1, 2015, at her Fairmount residence with her family by her side.
Born on August 26, 1939 in Gaston, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Mitchener and the late Ruth M. (Clock) Mitchener. Phyllis was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson High School and married her husband of 54 years, Robert L. White, on July 15, 1961. Phyllis was a cook and had worked at Matthews Family Restaurant, Grandmas Home Cooking and Stuckeys Pecan Shop and as well as cleaning at Hunts Funeral Home. She was a member of Grant United Methodist Church, serving on several committees including the outreach committee and funeral dinner committee. Phyllis enjoyed reading, flowers and gardening.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband: Robert White. Daughter: Brinda (David) Carter, Fairmount, IN Son: Doug ( Angie) White, Fort Wayne, IN Two Grandchildren: Cody and Alivia White, Ft. Wayne, IN Two Sisters: Betty Powers, Muncie, IN Geraldine (Herb) Howard, Upland, IN Brother: Jack (Virginia) Mitchener, Muncie, IN.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Mitchener and 2 Brothers- in-law, Roger Jessup and John Powers.
