Lakeland – Phyllis Cynthia Myers, 93, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, as a result of natural causes.
Mrs. Myers was born July 29, 1920 in Evans City, PA. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission in Lakeland, but she also served for many years with United States Steel in Pittsburg, PA. Mrs. Myers was very active in her community and served as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, where she served in the Reach to Recovery and Bosom Buddies programs.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Myers; sister, Doris Sanders; brothers, Wesley Reibold, Jack Frame and Charles Frame; and nieces, Jacqie Myers and April Alford. She is survived by her nieces Jill Freeman and Candy Sullivan as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.
