After a long battle with cancer Phyllis Joan Preast, 74, of Silver City, NM, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, November 14, 2015 surrounded by family.
She was born, May 22, 1941 in Vincent, Iowa to Hugo and Viola Rossow. One of nine kids, she was raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She moved to Tucson, AZ where she married Charles Preast and had three children. Charles was in the Air Force and they spent four years in Spain where they enjoyed traveling other countries. They returned to Tucson, AZ and then to Vandenberg AFB in CA. She moved to Tucson, AZ and then to Silver City in 2000 where she helped raise her granddaughter and made many friends that made her life complete.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her sister Marlys Smith of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Phyllis’ children; Kimberly Dimock and Stephanie Preast of Silver City, NM and Thomas Preast and his wife Rose of Henderson, NV. She also had six grandkids, Samantha Dimock and her husband John, Cassidy Dimock, Jessica Preast, Amanda Trei and Jonathon Trei, Uncle Paul Angell, Tucson, AZ, Jim Massoglia, Tucson, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her Great-Grandchildren Kaya, Charlie, Emmi, Aalisha, Zack and Aidan.
