Mrs. Phyllis Stalcup Tweeton, better known as “P.J.,” died peacefully on December 25, 2015, with her daughter by her side and her favorite Rachmaninov concerto playing in the background.
The epitome of style and grace, P.J. was a beautiful woman-kind, elegant, smart, funny and politely opinionated. A gifted interior designer, consummate hostess, loving pet owner and devoted mother, P.J. was known for her classic taste, stoic nature, generous spirit and ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation. It’s no wonder she enjoyed such a rewarding career in interior design; this was a girl who, at the age of 12, was immersed in “The Encyclopedia of Furniture” while her friends were reading Nancy Drew.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Howard and Bernice Stalcup, P.J.
