Matthews: Phyllis P. Liming, 89, passed away at 3:36 a.m. Friday at Morrison Woods, Muncie.
She was born in Matthews, the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (Hazelbaker) Wright.
Phyllis graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1942. She married James Liming on September 2, 1943. He preceded her in death January 17, 1967.
She retired from Owens-Illinois, Gas City after 27 years. She was a member of American Legion, VFW, AmVets, and Moose Lodge, Gas City. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was also well known for her chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include a son, Kim Liming, Matthews; a daughter, Cindy (Edward) Reed, Gaston; sisters: Jackie Moorman, Fairmount, Mary Lou Slater, Matthews, Jo (Charles) Clevenger, Matthews; four grandchildren, Ginger Reed, Margo Allen, Jami Wormer, Nick Liming; and three great grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, and Mary Ann; step great grandchildren, Brandan, Brittany, Nicholas, and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step great grandson, Andrew Lacky.
