Phyllis Sue Norman peacefully passed away in her home, Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

Born December 23, 1939 in Salyersville Kentucky she was the daughter of William Arvel and Nancy Wells Hampton.

Phyllis was a loving wife and is survived by John L. Norman her sweetheart and the love of her life of 45 years. Together they raised two daughters Denise (Keith) Carty of Warsaw, Indiana, and Melinda (Les) Long of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, two sons Mike Reffitt of Crawfordville, Florida, and Perry (Rebecca) Norman of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was a passionate grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by 5 sisters Nancy Kibler, Faye Smith, Jean Larson, Vivian (Bob) James and Judy (Frank) Pressler.

She is preceded in death by her lifelong best friend Emma Jean Lake. Phyllis worked as an office assistant for several years. After her children were raised and equipped for success, she and her husband John co-owned Norman Transports based out of Ocala, Florida. She diligently worked along John’s side as the bookkeeper, dispatcher and an escort driver. She enjoyed housekeeping, gardening and loved the outdoors. Sitting around the pond with her family was one of her favorite times of enjoyment. She is remembered as one who loved unconditionally, a kind, generous, person with a big heart and always put others needs before her own. She is forever loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Phyllis was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
