Phyllis “Phyl” Ray Taylor Kinchlow was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Willow C. Edelen and Virgil E Taylor on November 27, 1939. At the age of 12, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Phyl professed her love for Christ at an early age.

Phyl wore many hats throughout her life.

Phyl loved to sew; in fact, she made many of her clothes.  Phyllis was stylish! She loved trying new hairstyles, doing her make-up, having her nails done, dressing up, and coordinating from head to toe. Phyl enjoyed going to bingo and the casino with her friends, playing cards, bargain hunting at thrift stores and going to dinner and the movies with her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughters.

Phyl entered eternal peace on Sunday, June 9th, 2019, at the age of 79 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 44 years, Carl    Kinchlow; sisters, Regina Tracy and Peggy Taylor; brothers, Donald Taylor and Vincent Taylor, and step-mother, Norma Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory a daughter, Valerie Smith; granddaughter, Quiana Smith; grandson, William Smith, IV; two great-granddaughters, Kharin Dixon and Aaliyah Haley; five sisters, Jewel Edelen, Barkley Taylor, Bonnie (Anthony) Taylor Farris, Melissa Taylor and Vanessa Taylor; five brothers, Donald Taylor, Earl Taylor (Vanessa), Gregory Taylor (Cindy), Joseph Taylor (Sharon), Stefan Taylor and Terry Taylor (Patricia); very special friends, William E Smith, III, Jeffrey Bibbs, Betty Conway, Pamela Horton and Debra Fry, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, who she loved so dearly.
