Phyllis Jean (Land) Albea, 91, of Anderson, passed away at home on August 18, 2021. She was born on November 10, 1929, in Milroy, Indiana, and resided most of her life in Anderson. Phyllis graduated from Eden High School in 1949. She was a loving wife and mother, but she was so much more. She was the secretary and bookkeeper for the family businesses, cooked countless meals for her church and Masonic Lodge, was the concessions manager for many years at Fairview Little League and the Anderson Babe Ruth League, and was a poet who could come up with a poem for any occasions at the drop of a hat. She was a member of Fifth Street United Methodist Church, where she served as organist for over 20 years, was Past Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel 13, Past Grand Guardian of Indiana Job’s Daughters, and was Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star #154.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, David (Mary) Albea, Tim Albea, Sandy (Bill) Cunningham, and Janet (Alan) Gregg; daughter-in-law, Leeta Albea; grandchildren, Cammie (Chris) Slaven, Amanda Albea, Levi (Tara) Albea, Maggie (Chuck) Fulp, Willie (Jenny) Ray, Pete Albea, Jenny (Craig) Polackin, Julie (Scott) Henderson, Emily (Phil) Enck, Babs (Mark) DeThomasis, Matt (Michelle) Cunningham, Anna Lise (JD) Allman, Jason (Jessie) Cunningham, Jasmin (Reza) Ardalan, and Dylon (Echo) Gregg; and 27 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are her sister, Kathryn Dickey; sister-in-law; Marie Albea; brother-in-law, Kenneth Sparks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married May 8, 1949, Hubert Albea; son, Charles Mark “Butch” Albea; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Albea; parents, Harry G. and Luretta P. (Rea) Land; and siblings, Roy Land, Mildred Greer, Martha Williams, Fern Cook, and Bud Land.
