Phyllis J. Rowe, 96, of Tonica, died October 30 at Liberty Village, Manor Court Nursing Home in Peru.
Phyllis was born August 26, 1919 in Deer Park, to Lloyd and Ruth (Dibell) Hilton. She married Floyd “Buck” Rowe in May 22, 1941, in Deer Park Township. Mrs. Rowe and her husband moved to Tonica in 1952. She was a wonderful mother, housewife, and bookkeeper, and worked as a cook at the Tonica School for several years. She was a long time productive member of the Deer Park Community Church and the Deer Park Ladies Mission Society. She is survived by her son, Gary (Patricia) Rowe of Mackinaw, Ill.; and two grandsons, Michael (Elizabeth) Rowe of Pekin, Ill., and Jeffrey (Heather) Rowe on Normal, Ill., and two great-granddaughters Hope and Sienna. Also surviving are a sister Virginia (Peg) Cooper of Tonica and a brother Roger (Linda) Hilton of Deer Park. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 2, 2007.
