Phyllis J. (Mallonee) Hartauer, 89, of LaSalle, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the JPO Retirement Home in Dalzell. Mrs. Hartauer was born June 10, 1929 in Peru to Ervin and Olga (Haas) Mallonee. She married John A. “Jack” Hartauer on October 6, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Church, LaSalle. Mrs. Hartauer worked at Electric Utilities, Hawkeye Security Insurance, American States and retired from Hartauer Insurance Agency Inc. in 2012. She was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church, LaSalle.
She enjoyed crafting, spending time with friends in her card clubs and any event or sporting activity of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren. A love acquired from her husband, she was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Survivors include four children, Gretchen (Gary) Robertson of LaSalle, Rachel (Timothy) McNatt of Louisville, KY, Dr. Kerry “Gus” (Beth) Hartauer of Carmel, IN and Bart (Katie) Hartauer of LaSalle; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on August 10, 2003; her parents and her brother, Bruce Mallonee.
