Phyllis J.
She built lifelong friendships stemming from her time at Decker’s where she and her pals formed a monthly card club that eventually morphed into a lady’s dinner. Even though they stopped playing cards it continued to be “card club.” Phyllis and her husband Lee enjoyed wintering in Clearwater, Florida for many years. Phyllis also enjoyed working a crossword puzzle, watching NASCAR and birdwatching; particularly the hummingbirds that frequented her feeders. Other things that brought Phyllis joy were her weekly cousin lunches, lady’s luncheons and time spent at the American Legion Post 11 with her late sister Donna and her late husband Lee, along with the numerous friends she made there.
Phyllis was a loving, supportive and proud mother to her two surviving daughters, Jodi (Brian) Hudson of St. Petersburg, FL and Cindy (Steve) Marin of Lafayette, IN. What brought her the most joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Derek (Katlin) Marin and their children Nellie and Micah Marin, Kylie Caroselli and her partner Devin Speer and their son Osias Speer, and Jacob Marin and his fiancé Leah Thompson. Also surviving is her “favorite” niece and several nephews. Phyllis is preceded in death by her four sisters: Barbara (Shoaf) Norwood, Shirley “George” (Shoaf) Floyd, Kathy (Shoaf) Moore and Donna Shoaf.
