Phyllis B. Heston, 92
Widow of Herman Heston and mother of Mary Whitham
Phyllis Bernice (Mundell) Heston was born September 4, 1919, the youngest of five children, to William J. and Mary E. (Anderson) Mundell in Lucas County, Iowa. She passed away December 2, 2011 at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa, at the age of 92.
Phyllis married Herman L. Heston on October 17, 1937. After marriage, she and Herman moved to a farm west of Lucas, where she resided until her death. To this union, one daughter, Mary Lea, was born.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Herman; two brothers, Clarence and Harold; and two sisters, Amy Snook and Floy Querrey.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Mary Lea Whitham; three grandchildren, Debbie (Jerry) Bremer, Daniel Whitham, and James (Renee) Whitham; five great-grandchildren, Stacy, Leslie, and Kelli Bremer; Ransom and William Whitham; one great-great granddaughter, Chelsie Whitham; two step great-grandchildren, Nathan and Nicole McAtee, and many other relatives and friends.
