Phyllis D. (Nichols) Lehet, 78, wife of Daniel Lehet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Middlesex Hospital after a valiant fight against cancer. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hope) Nichols and had lived in Durham since 1964. Phyllis and Dan had been married for 57 years and in fact were High School sweethearts. Phyllis showered all her love and affection on her family, which she considered the most important thing in her life. She will be sadly missed by all. She is survived by her husband Dan and was blessed to have five children who presented her with thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her children are Alan S. Lehet of Middletown, daughters Danielle Lehet of Middletown, Cheryl J. Johnson of East Haddam, and Ellen M. Gribko of Middlefield, her brother James R. Nichols of Pocono Lake, PA. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Robert D. Lehet and her sister Joan B. Hartman.
