Obituary of Phyllis Brogger
BROGGER, Phyllis of Saginaw, Michigan. Passed away on Sunday morning, June 23, 2013 at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre with her family by her side. She was 88 years old. Phyllis Donhaiser was born on August 16, 1924 in Mendon, Ohio, to the late Homer Leon and Ruth Mary (Copeland) Donhaiser.
In 1940 Phyllis was chosen as the first Hoyt Park Winter Carnival Queen. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1942 and attended Ohio Wesleyan College. Phyllis was employed by the former “Parker Willox Fairchild & Campbell” for over 25 years as a proof-reader and project coordinator. She enjoyed bridge, bingo, golf and was an exceptional pianist. Phyllis loved to read, knit and watch the Detroit Tigers.
Surviving are seven children: Denise Miller of Lupton, Stevie (Mike) Sargent of West Branch, Cindy (Frank) Thomas of Grand Rapids, Kevin (Stan) Sobol of Saginaw, Toni DeMatio of West Branch, Frank (Jody) Brogger of Freeland, and Pete (Niki) Brogger of Novi; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild with another expected in September.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew DeMatio, and three brothers, John, Jim, and Bill Donhaiser
