Phyllis Blecha
Phyllis Ann (Shrauger) Blecha, 75, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 1, 1938 in Salem, Nebraska to Norman and Wilma (Robb) Shrauger. She attended numerous schools in the Salem, Dawson, and Verdon area and later graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1956. Phyllis continued her education by attending Business School in Lincoln while working at the Capitol Building as a Page.
On April 20, 1958, Phyllis was united in marriage to Richard Lee Blecha at The Christian Church in Humboldt, Nebraska. To this union four children, Howard Wayne, Richard Lee Jr., James Rudolph, and Barbara Jean were born. The couple raised their family on a farm outside of Table Rock, Nebraska. Phyllis was a stay at home mother who raised a big garden and dressed lots of chickens. She worked as an Avon lady for a short time and worked in Table Rock at The Hotel and Senior Center. Phyllis was a care giver at heart and worked as a nurse’s aid at the Humboldt Hospital and at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Jolly Workers Club, the United Methodist Women, and the Table Rock Rebekah’s Lodge. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting and counted cross stitch. She made Afghans for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Richard and Phyllis celebrated 53 years of marriage through trials and tribulations.
Phyllis passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the age of seventy-five years and seven months. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father George Goodnick, an infant brother, a sister Carol Goos, brothers: John (Cathy) Shrauger and Gary Shrauger, husband Richard Blecha Sr., son Richard Blecha Jr. and a daughter Barbara Dyas.
Phyllis is survived by her sons: Howard Blecha and his wife Debbie of Table Rock, NE; Jim Blecha and his wife Vicki of Junction City, KS; grandchildren: Elizabeth Houk of Bristow, VA; Nicholas (Terra) Blecha of Table Rock, NE; Benjamin Blecha of Lincoln, NE; Rebecca Blecha of Table Rock, NE; James Blecha Jr. of Junction City, KS; Nicole (Shawn) Hoffman of Kearney, NE; Erin Dyas of Crete, NE; Amanda Dyas of Table Rock, NE; great-grandchildren: Austin Houk; Neveah and Taelyn Blecha; Timothy Hoffman; sister-in-law Linda Shrauger; and many other relatives and friends.
