Phyllis Alarcon Martinez, 100, passed away Feb. 16, 2022. She was born on Dec. 5, 1921 to parents Pedro and Carmelita Palomino both of whom precede her in death along with her children, Bob and Sarafina Alarcon; granddaughters, Michelle and and Sara; great grandson, Nate Barela; siblings, Secundino, Zenon, and Paul Palomino, Mary Garcia, and Adenlina Bernal. Phyllis enjoyed bingo and going to Cripple Creek, traveling and site-seeing. She loved camping with her family. She was an excellent cook. Nobody ever left her home hungry. She was a proud matriarch of five generations of Alarcon’s, Palamino’s, Bernal’s, Garcia’s, Diaz’s, Martinez’s, and Montano’s and instilled a strong work ethic in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Ernie (Hilda) Alarcon, Mary (Henry) Manzanarez, and Chris (Nancy) Alarcon; daughter-in-law, Betty Alarcon; special, friend Larry Salazar; 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. At her request, cremation.
