Phyllis A. (Tavares) Pena, age 59, of Plymouth, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on October 15, 2018 after a long and courageous battle. She was the beloved fiancé of James Burden of Plymouth. She was the loving Mother of Casey Pena and his fiancé Heather Martin of Wareham, Tyson Burden of Falmouth, Derek, Diona and Raejean Burden of Plymouth and the late Nikeisha Burden. She was the grandmother of Kylee, Joseph, Lindsey, Analie, Ayla, Chloe, Amaya, Layla, Armani, Matteo, and Avery. She was the sister of the late “Smitty” Tavares.Phyllis was born on March 4, 1959 in Plymouth to Frank and Anne (Vierra) Tavares. She grew up in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School. She enjoyed her frequent trips to Walmart. Phyllis loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a “Mom” to everyone in the neighborhood and she will be dearly missed.
