Phyllis A. Grubbs, age 84, of Salem, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Courtyard at Lexington in Salem, Ohio. She was born November 20, 1931 in Deerfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Jenkins) Sullivan.

She was employed at the Deming Company where she was a secretary in billing and previously at Grubbs Brothers also as secretary. Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of Salem High School and was a member of the Franklin Square Methodist Church and Threshold in Lisbon. She loved music, reading, playing the piano and was a great cook.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Grubbs, whom she married April 14, 1956. Three daughters, Barbara (James) Cox of Canfield, Sandra Gregg of London, Ohio, and Karen Grubbs of the home; and one granddaughter, Sarah Gregg.

Preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charley Gregg
