Phillip “Phil” E. Englehaupt, 76, of Ladd, passed away at 1:30 PM Sunday (November 1, 2015) at I.V.C.H. Hospital in Peru.
He was born on December 1, 1938 in Granville to George & Gladys (Brown) Englehaupt. He was raised by his stepfather, John Maggi and his mother, Gladys Maggi. He married the former Judy Bernardoni on July 30, 1966 at St.
He is also survived by his children: Leslie Englehaupt of LaSalle, Doug (Heather McCutcheon) Englehaupt of Ladd, Dave (Kanu Chaichalud) Englehaupt of Dalzell and Dan (Shavonne) Englehaupt of Ladd; 9 grandchildren, a sister, Roxanne Kerr of Ladd and a brother John (Nancy) Maggi of Ladd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather and a sister, Bonnie Wenzel.
He served in the United States Marines and retired from Phillips-Joanna in Ladd in 1999.
He had served as President of A.B.G. (Aluminum, Brick & Glass) Union and he loved to fish and work in his garden. Phil was a simple man who loved his family and his grandchildren.
