Mr. Phillip Lamar Butler, age 75, of Valley passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Butler was born on March 3, 1941 in West Point, Georgia to the late Lamar and Eunice Spraggins Butler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Pierce Butler, and his brothers, Frank and Preston Butler.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianne (Bobby) Parrish, Valley; grandson, Nick (Crystal) Parrish, Valley; granddaughter, Stephanie (Michael) Owsley, Valley; great granddaughter, Peyton Owsley, Valley; great grandson, Mason Parrish, Valley; brother, Kenneth (Glenda) Butler, West Point, GA.; sister, Shelia (David) Power, West Point, GA.; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Butler was a member and deacon of Fairview Baptist Church.
He was a former member of the Valley Rescue Squad and had served as a volunteer at the East Alabama Fire Department. He was an active member of the Valley Senior Center. He also volunteered with the Bread Basket Program at the Langdale United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
