Phillip James Burns, 53, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on July 12, 2019.
Phillip was born on October 17, 1965 on Andrews Airforce Base in Maryland to Edward and Irma Burns. As a military family they relocated to Japan in October 1966 before moving to Aurora, Colorado in 1974. Phillip graduated from Gateway High School in Aurora in 1984.
Phillip met his wife Kerrie in 1994 and they would be blessed with twin daughters, Taylor and Ravyn on September 15, 2000. Every weekend during the summer you could find him and the whole the family at Cherry Creek Reservoir. Phillip absolutely loved being the boat Captain and he was amazing at it. He would spend these days pulling the kids on tubes and teaching them how to board. When he wasn’t on the boat he would be spreading his personality along the beach.
He loved to snowboard, golf and would always welcome a challenging game of ping-pong. His family and friends could also find him with dice in his pocket ready to play at a moments notice or at the craps table in Central City and Blackhawk.
Phillip found his calling in car sales and he fit in perfectly with his car business family. He was very successful in the business and won multiple awards.
Phillip was fun loving, outgoing, and had a full sense of humor. His laughter was contagious and he cracked himself up as much as he did others.
Phillip is survived by his father Edward J. Burns, Jr., his mother Irma F. Burns, his brother Ronald Burns (Karen Burns), his wife Kerrie, and twin daughters Ravyn and Taylor as well many more family members and close friends.
