Phillip Hull Emerson, 74, of Sheridan passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 with his wife and sons by his side. He was born on April 3, 1944 in Noblesville, Indiana and he was the son of the late Mark Raymond and Flora Mae Hortense (Hull) Emerson. On March 11, 1988, he married the love of his life, Judith Marie Proffitt.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and served as a Private First Class in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. Phillip was a True Scenic and Wildlife Photographer for 45 years and filmed throughout Colorado and the western United States. His work has been published in local newspapers as well as the National Audubon Magazine and Estes Park Gazette. His dream to publish his first book, A Symphony for All Seasons, became a reality in 2011. Phillip enjoyed hiking in the mountainous ranges of Colorado and being with nature.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Rebecca) Emerson of Ft. Lupton, Colorado and Michael Emerson of Englewood. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, and Titus and his brother, Stan Emerson of Mooresville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marcia Jewell Gay.
