Phillip H. Gaddy, “Phil”, age 53, of Newnan, Ga. entered his heavenly home on October 7, 2020. Phil was born on December 17, 1966. Although he was an only child, Phil was easily loved and surrounded by his much-loved cousins, “bonus” siblings, numerous friends, and family. At the age of 19, Phil began his 34-year-career as a Staking Engineer with Coweta Fayette EMC, where he proudly spent his last years as the Energy Services Residential Marketing Representative. To know Phil was to know love and kindness. His gentle ways, humble spirit, and strong faith not only infected, but changed, the lives of those he encountered. It was quite rare to catch Phil without a smile, and if you ever did it was most likely the result of a Georgia Tech loss. Phil was a devoted friend and Christian. He enjoyed grilling, making his renowned Peanut Butter Cookies, watching Georgia Tech Football, and spending time with his “pups” – Mousse, Ruffs, and Belle. Phil was a “family man”, he loved sharing his favorite childhood memories of growing up with his cousins, he also loved his late night talks with his best friends, Kevin, and Casey. He spent countless hours bragging on his “little buddy”, Andrew, his “bonus children”, and his “beloved Chelle.” Phil was proud to be a “momma’s boy.” His easygoing and calming presence will be missed, dearly. Our lives and community are forever changed. If he could say anything to you today, we are sure he would say, “This is not goodbye, just so long for a little while.” Special thanks to Pamela Helton Renno, Phil’s beloved cousin, confident and advanced health care manager, who has so lovingly been by his side through the entire journey. Phil is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elaine Alexander Lee (John); his father, Mr. Horace Gaddy (Ruth); his stepsisters: Mrs. Jennifer Corbitt (Michael), Ms. Leslie Ann Miller, and Ms. Terrin Merrick (Kenny); his fiancée, Ms. Michelle Moody; his “bonus” children, Mrs. Chafin Beckom Pitts (Justin), Mr. Brandon Wiggins (Haley), Mr. Daulton Wiggins (Erica), and Ms. Caitlin Wiggins (Taylor); his “bonus” grandson, Andrew Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Mr. Emory Alexander Sr. and Mrs. Lillian Alexander, Paternal grandparents Mr. Rufus Gaddy and Mrs. Fanny Gaddy and many beloved Aunts and Uncles.
