Phillip Foster Mayfield, never met a person who didn’t become a friend. He was popular in high school and recognized as one of the best dressed with the best “Afro” hairstyle.
Phillip attended Indianapolis Public School #36 and graduated from George Washington High School. Phillip was best known as defensive captain of the IHSAA State Championship Football Team in 1975. Phillip was also a member of the Indiana State University football team in Terre Haute, Indiana. Phillip had a plethora of jobs. He loved to cook, work, and travel.
Phillip Foster Mayfield, the Son of Georgia H. Mayfield and Tyler Mayfield and Brother to Olene Robinson, all preceded him in death.
Survivors left to cherish are his two loving daughters, Christina Mayfield (Mother Melody) and Meghan Mayfield (Mother Linda). He also leaves to cherish his Grandchildren, Brynish Mayfield, Roshawn Mayfield, and Jersey Williamson along with a host of nieces and nephews.
