WALLINGFORD – Philip Massaro, 87, departed this life on August 23, 2017 at MidState Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Mabel (Huston) Massaro. Philip was born in New Haven, CT on March 9, 1930 to the late Peter and Frances (Fiorentino) Massaro.
Phil graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven, CT. He was in the Army during the Korean War and then after received his engineering degree from UConn and the University of Arizona. He worked for Pratt & Whitney as an engineer for 40 years in North Haven and East Hartford, CT. He was a lifelong student and teacher both taking classes at SCSU and teaching mathematics and science in Wallingford, CT.
