SMALL, Philip R. Philip passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the age of 84. He was born September 26, 1930 in Buchanan, MI to the late Claude and Elsie (Meyers) Small.
Philip was united in marriage to Wanda Cartwright on July 16, 1955. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from January of 1952 until honorably discharged in October of 1953.
Philip worked as an architect for General Motors for 44 years until retiring. Phil’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Philip is survived by his wife, Wanda Small; children, Karen (Greg) Hokenson, Ken Small and Christine (Todd) Hartman; 7 grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Therkildsen, Grace (Luke) Schneider, Michael Hokenson, Jennifer (Matt) Henderson, Nikki Hartman, Joshua Hartman and Jordan Hartman; 6 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Jeriah and Mathias Therkildsen, Olivia, Elizabeth and Julia Schneider; sister, Wanda (Chuck) McConnell; sister-in-law, Delores Small; and many nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wayne Small and Walter Small.
