SPOFFORD, Philip N. Jr. “Nick”, 68, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Fleming Island, FL. He was a graduate of Bolles School in 1966, attended University of Tennessee, then enlisted in the United States Army in 1970 where he was a recipient of a Bronze Star in Vietnam. He returned to finish his education at the University of North Florida to earn his BA. He was the owner of West Inn “Monty’s” for 45 years and retired in 2015. He had a love for being around the water while snorkeling, sailing, fishing and kayaking, and also enjoyed hiking and biking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip N. Spofford Sr. and his sister, April Spofford.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Spofford; his son, Philip N. Spofford, III “Nicky”; his mother, Betty Williams; his brother, Bobby Williams; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
