Philip Joubert, 50, passed away at home unexpectedly on March 21, 2021.  Phil was born on February 4,1971 in Holyoke, Ma. and was a son to Joseph Joubert and Karen Brill (Parenzo). Phil was raised in Westfield, Ma and later moved to Gloucester with his wife and children to work at, and later own, a Pet Store – Dog Daycare – Kennel business named Paws at Play, Inc.

Many knew him as the face of Paws at Play, or Uncle Phil to the pups. He was also a selfless husband, a remarkable father, a loyal son, a caring brother, an uncommonly genuine and devoted friend, and the hardest, most dedicated worker you’ll ever meet. He would give anyone the shirt off his back without a second thought. However, Phil had two weaknesses. One was his overwhelming love and devotion for those around him; it always rains the hardest for those who deserve the sun. His second? Skippy peanut butter. He loved dad-jokes and poking fun at his wife and kids. He always knew how to crack a joke and make you laugh when no one else could. He just wanted to see you smile. Phil loved coffee and sunrises, camping and campfires, sunny days and motorcycle favorite place to be was on the back of his custom-built Harley Sportster, surrounded by his wife and friends, riding together without a care in the world. He was the go-to guy that could do it all, and he did. He truly touched the lives of everyone he met and was a man that no one could forget.

Phil is survived by his mother, Karen Brill, his wife and soul mate of 26 years Tanya Joubert (Magdycz), and his cherished children Kayleen, Eileeah, Shane, and Steven. He was a caring brother to Tony Brill, Patricia Fanion, and her husband Bobby. “Good people are like candles; They burn themselves up to give other’s light.” He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
