Petra “Petrita” M. De La Rosa, our beautiful blue-eyed inspiration, entered the gates of Heaven on January 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1939 to Seferino Martinez and Guadalupe Sanchez.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Luis De La Rosa; daughters, Yvonne (Bonnie) Rodriguez, Elizabeth (Betsy) Avila (Hector), and Cindy De La Rosa (Joe Cortez); grandchildren, Lizette Sandoval (Juan), Dr. Joshua Rodriguez (fiancé Dr. Cory Garza), and Cassandra Leanne Avila; great-grand-children, Lexi, Luke, and Leah Sandoval; her beloved sister, Dora S. Vela; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Seferino Martinez and Guadalupe Sanchez; her brothers, Raul S. Torrez and Simon Garcia.
