Peter O. Valler, Sr., age 88, passed away December 15, 2020 in Kalamazoo, MI. Peter was born September 18, 1932 in Boyne City, MI, the son of Andrew and Ocole (Scott) Valler and has been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1948. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central HS and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1952-56. Peter was a member of the VFW Post #827. For over 39 years he was employed as a photo engraver for the Kalamazoo Gazette, retiring in 1994.
In 1953, he was united in marriage to Alberta (Ronk) Valler, who preceded him in death in 1996. He was also preceded by his parents and his daughter Debra Mapes, step-daughter Sandra Richards, and grandson Austin Valler.
In 1998, he was united in marriage to Wanda (Horton) Valler, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Terry Valler, Peter (Karla) Valler and Andrew (Susan) Valler; his step-children: Shawn (Ronald) Gleason and Brad Fisher; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his sister Sonia DeLeon; son-in-law Brian (Sue) Mapes and several nieces and nephews.
