Peter Michael Arroyo, 69, was born in New York City on May 19, 1947 to immigrant parents Catalino and Mercedes (Giboyeaux) and peacefully passed away in Lakeland, Florida on November 14, 2016. Raised in Flushing, Queens at the Bland Projects, Peter learned the importance of a strong work ethic, the value of a dollar, and made lifelong friendships with other immigrant children. Throughout childhood Peter enjoyed watching movies in vintage theaters and learned valuable life lessons as a Boy Scout Patrol Leader. He played football in high school and learned to fix cars with his best friends. After high school Peter enlisted with the Air Force where he learned aircraft maintenance and was stationed in Ankara, Turkey. While serving overseas he traveled to Germany, Spain, and Italy and met wife Marian at a Christmas Eve party in 1968. 10 months later they were married in New York–a marriage of 47 years at his passing.
