Peter J. Fingerlin, 73, of The Villages, Fl, died Monday October 26, 2015 under hospice care surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s home in Ocean County. Born on March 26, 1942 in Elizabeth, NJ, to Mary (Trepanier) and Peter Fingerlin. Pete was a hard working, devoted, loving and fun dad, grandfather, uncle and brother. Pete loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, friends and family. Pete worked for the NJ Turnpike for over thirty years in maintenance as a supervisor and union representative.

Pete grew up in Linden, NJ, before moving to Parlin, NJ, where he resided for over fifteen years. He moved to Toms River, NJ, where he was an avid boater, crabber, and fisherman. Peter retired to The Villages, FL, almost four years ago where he continued to enjoy life as a dancer, golfer and an active member of their Irish Club. Pete is survived by his son, Peter Fingerlin III, his daughter in-law, Jennifer, granddaughter, Reese, and grandson, Alex as well as his daughter, Patricia Fox, son in-law, Adam, and grandsons, Matthew, David, and Jake.

Pete was predeceased by his mother and father, sister, Shirley Thompson, and brother, Dennis Fingerlin. He is survived by his brothers, Richard and Fred Fingerlin as well as his sister, Alice Hofer.
