Uncasville-Peter J. Erickson, 70 of Dydo Dr., beloved husband of Barbara J. (Donovan) Erickson, died Monday morning, May 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwich he was the son of the late Leroy and Agnes (Harrigan) Erickson, Sr. Peter was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy class of 1963.
On March 26, 1965, in Sts. Peter and Paul Church he was united in marriage to the former Barbara J. Donovan.
Mr. Erickson was a proud United States veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force 1965 – 68, U.S. Air Force Reserves 1968 – 76, Connecticut National Guard 1976 – 92, U.S. Army during Desert Storm 1991, retiring in 1993.
Peter worked for over twenty-two years as a tractor trailer driver for UPS. He enjoyed golfing, building things, working on cars, and was an all around tinkerer.
Surviving is his wife of fifty – one years, two sons Jeffery P. Erickson of Buford, GA and James E. Erickson and his wife Mary Beth of Gales Ferry; two daughters Deborah J. Dubey and her husband Christopher of Alpharetta, GA and Karen L. Johnson and her husband Gary of Uncasville; two brothers Roy Erickson and his wife Patricia of Culloden, WV and Paul Erickson and his wife Carol of Norwich; nine grandchildren Christopher, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Timothy, Emily, Megan, Elizabeth, Sabrina, and several nieces and nephews.
