Peter J. Beirne, 87, of Bayville, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at home. Born in Ireland, he lived in Uniondale, Long Island, NY then Palm Harbor, FL before moving to Bayville 15 years ago.
Peter was a Real Estate Salesman for Century 21 in Long Island, NY, and worked in Preneed Sales at cemeteries in Florida. He was a US Navy WWII veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 129, Toms River, and the Irish American Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Gloria of 25 years, his children Grace Smith of Astoria, Queens, NY, Cathy Case of Hudson, FL, Cheryl Bridges of Hempstead, NY and Joseph Yorkus of Las Vegas; his grandchildren Samantha Bridges, Joe Yorkus, Nicholle Fenton, Linda Mastrogicomo, Joe – Joe Yorkus, Jennifer Yorkus, Madison Yorkus, Brooke Yorkus, Joey Yorkus, Michelle Clopton and Ty Yorkus; his great-grandchildren Jackson Fenton, Bradley & Kelly Clopton; his sister Maureen Hillyard and his beloved cat, Smokey.
He was predeceased by his sister Mary Beirne.
