Peter F. Krattinger, 67, formerly of Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospice, Allentown.
Born in Bronx, NY, Peter was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Travers) Krattinger. He was awarded a Certificate Of Merit by the Fire Department of New York City for being instrumental in saving an infant‘s life in 1968. He worked as a truck driver, primarily for the Portosan Company of Harrison, NJ. He was an avid fisher, hunter, and bowler and was a long standing member of the Clifton Elks Lodge #1569.
In his second act, he advocated for the rights of his fellow people with disabilities. He attended the Dial Recreation Program in Clifton, NJ and Buckingham Adult Day Care in Paterson, NJ. Hurricane Irene relocated Peter and his beloved cat Harry to the Lehigh Valley, where he had resided since.
Survivors: daughters MaryEllen Krattinger of Catasauqua, step daughter Michelle Gaudet (Audette) of Clifton, NJ; brother Joseph Krattinger and his wife Gerrie of Smyna, DE; grandsons Aaron and Atticus Alcalde, Anthony, Brandon, and Christopher Zaccone, and granddaughter Caleigh Gaudet. Peter was predeceased by his sister, Joellen Krattinger and daughter, Aileen Haight.
