Peter Francis Doran of Boca Raton, Florida, forever calm and graceful, died peacefully and surrounded by his family at home on Monday, September 5th, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was a loving husband to Molly for over 50 years, father to Sarah Casey Doran (Amanda Patten), Peter Barnard Doran (Stephanie) and Moira Francis Doran Locigno (Dominic) and “Duke” to Harper Doran, Luke Locigno, Nan Doran-Patten, Maddie Locigno and Casey Doran-Patten.  Peter will be forever missed. He was a wonderful son to Madeline and Dan, and brother to John and Ellen, and friend, enthusiastic supporter and Godfather of so many.  He was 83.

Peter grew up in upstate New York and moved to Boca Raton, to which his family had relocated, following his graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1961. It was there that he met the love of his life, Molly, and they began their fifty two-year adventure together.

A resident of Boca Raton for over sixty years, Peter was a constant, generous and actively engaged member of the community.

Upon moving to Boca Raton, he worked as a lifeguard on the Boca Raton public beaches until founding Doran and Company Insurance and Realtors in 1964.  He continued his education at Florida Atlantic University and Stanford University, as well as through an endless appetite for books and current events. He sold his business over twenty years ago, while continuing to invest and sell real estate until only recently.  His love of the ocean manifested in his almost daily open water swims from the Boca Beach Pavilion, and wonderful family trips snorkeling through South Florida and the Bahamas.  His love of the woods and water was also a huge part of amazing summers in the Adirondack Mountains.  He and Molly especially loved their summers together at home on Honnendaga Lake at the Adirondack League Club.

We will be forever grateful to him for his steady calm and unflagging support. As well for his endless patience, car rides, life lessons, swim lessons, many other lessons, and genuine enthusiasm for absolutely everything undertaken by family and friends.  His commitment to our Mom, our family, and community, is a model to all of us.  We miss him beyond belief but carry him on our shoulder(s) each day.

The family will honor Peter in a private celebration. The family would also like to deeply thank the care team at Trustbridge Hospice By The Sea for the compassionate, caring and kind support we all benefited from these last months and, especially, these last few days together.
