Peter C. Avila, 67, lifelong Alamogordo resident, passed away, Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Alamogordo. He was born in Alamogordo on February 20, 1940 to Leonardo R. and Trinidad (Chavez) Avila.
Peter was an excellent Billiards player and had a large array of trophies won in many of the pool tournaments that he competed in. He also was an avid card and Dominos player, and enjoyed playing both. Peter was a General Contractor. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3355 and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include brothers, Jose C, Leonardo C., Jr., Luis C. and wife Hortensia, and John C. and wife Oralia; sisters, Presiliana A. Velasco and husband Juan and Margaret C. Vigil and her daughter Denise (Dee Dee Vigil) and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, Leonardo R. and Trinidad Chavez Avila; sisters, Anita A. Arenas, Donaciana A. Hill, Adelina A. Sandoval, Carmen A. Brusuelas, and Maria Elena Gonzales.
