BENINATO
Peter Bernard Beninato, Jr., a WWII, Korean War Veteran and Marine Staff Sgt. passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the age of 91. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorraine Morel Beninato, his children, Scott David Beninato (Sheila), & Laurie Beninato Hutchinson (Jimmy “Hutch “ Hutchinson, Jr.), son-in-law C. J. Gallo, Jr. and preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Beninato Gallo. Peter is also survived by grandchildren, Christopher Gregory Ray, Natalie Gallo, Nicolle Beninato Savery, Bridget Andrea Beninato, Rachel Frances Hutchinson and Rebecca Beninato Hutchinson; great grandchildren, Gregory and Kristen Ray, Lauren, Miah and Cole Savery, and Brenden Hebert Beninato.
Peter was a member of Alvin Callendar American Legion Post 23, Paul E. Boyd Marine Corps League Detachment 579, Military Order of the Purple Heart for injuries received at the invasion of Iwo Jima, and Charter member of the National WWII Museum, where he was a volunteer from the day it opened. He also personally received Marine Corps Commandant Medallion from the 34th Commandant, James T. Conway.
