Peter A. Bencivenga, 90, of Milford and beloved husband of Isabelle (Sally) Hjerpe Bencivenga, passed away on Monday, November 3. Son of the late Ciro and Josephine Duccilli Bencivenga, he was born on August 27, 1924 in Waterbury, CT. He served with pride and honor in the US Navy during WWII. Peter began his employment as an electrician and advanced to Superintendent of Maintenance at Raybestos in Stratford. During that time he was also Dean of Students at Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Prior to his retirement, Peter was the K – 12 Math Supervisor for the Milford Board of Education. He received an Associates degree from BEI and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bridgeport, both in electrical engineering, a Masters in Secondary Education and a 6th year Education Administration also from the University of Bridgeport.
In addition to his wife Sally, Peter is survived by his sons; Peter A. Bencivenga Jr. and Jerry C. Bencivenga and his wife June; his daughter Joanne Kraynak and her husband Michael; and his loving grandchildren. He is predeceased by his grandson Peter M. Bencivenga.
