Mr. Percell Yarbrough was born to Mary Lou Yarbrough on June 11, 1947 in Courtland, Alabama. He departed this life on February 20, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Percell received his formal education from Courtland High School where he excelled in his academic studies.
He and his younger brother Willie were part of the Silvertones Gospel singing group. He was also Co-owner of a local gospel radio station. Because of his dedication and gifted voice, he inspired and influenced several local singing groups. He was an entrepreneur that operated Yarbrough and Yarbrough LLC and Mr. Clean Cleaning Service. He was gifted to be a carpenter and also drove tractor trailer trucks for several years. He later retired from Wolverine Tube.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mary L. Yarbrough; sisters, Sylvester Swoopes and Linda Yarbrough; brother, Willie Yarbrough, son-in-law, Charles L. Shaw II; and grandson Courtney Shaw.
Mr. Percell Yarbrough leave behind to cherish his memory: a wife, Sally Ann Yarbrough; a lifelong friend, Barbara Ann Williams; nine children, Arlene Shaw, Kimberley Young, Anthony Yarbrough, Bryant Williams (Rendy), Lamar Williams, Camorris Yarbrough, DeShon Yarbrough, Dynasty Yarbrough, and Dr. Marcus D. Williams (Victoria);18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Sue Crittenden (Robert Williams) and Clara Bates; sisters-in-law, Catherine Yarbrough, Linda Cosby (Donte); a very close friend, Sam Kitchen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
