Peggy Lynne Rhoades of Green Forest, AR was born to Charles and Rosie O’Neal in Boulder, CO on December 1, 1944. She died at the age of 69 on Monday, September 1, 2014 following a car accident near Huntsville, AR. Peggy grew up and attended school in Sterling, CO. On September 8, 1963 she married the love of her life, Dennis Roades. They moved to a farm southeast of Sterling in the Lone Star community and Peggy drove to Yuma to begin her Nursing Career. They later moved to Otis, CO where Peggy enjoyed raising her three children. In 1982 the family moved to their current residence, a farm near Denver, AR. Peggy worked as a nurse in Dr. Wallace’s Clinic and later she became office manager at Farm Bureau in Berryville, where she retired after 22 years of service. She currently worked part time as a secretary for Meador & McCasland CPAs. Peggy loved to cook, read, travel and spend time with her family. Her compassion not only comforted and strengthened her family, but also her friends and acquaintances. She embodied the Christian spirit of hospitality and will be profoundly missed by all of her family and a host of friends. She was a member of Green Forest United Methodist Church. Her survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dennis Rhoades of Green Forest, sons, Tom Rhoades and wife Stacey of Hardy, AR, Jim Rhoades of Green Forest, daughter, Keri Kennedy and husband Mark of Ridgedale, MO, her adored grandchildren, Kristen Kennedy, John, Kayle, Clara and Tressie Rhoades, one sister, Patricia O’Neal of Arvada, CO, niece, Alexa and family of Johnstown, CO as well as a number of other family members .Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Roselynn O’Neal and her mother and father in law, Lewis and Clara Rhoades.
