Peggy Lou Stewart, 62, was born in Roseboro, NC to the late John and Annie Stewart. Peggy transitioned from this earthly life on August 27, 2016 at the Rose Garden Convalescent Center in Pasadena, CA. She attended Sampson County Public Schools and graduated from Charles E. Perry High School. Upon completion of high school she attended Mt. Olive College and graduated with a Bachelors degree. In the 70’s she joined Cooper Chapel United Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Lacey Cooper.
Peggy’s desire to become a model led her to Los Angeles, CA shortly after graduation. There, she landed several modeling jobs. One of her big accomplishments while there was being the 3rd runner up for the famous Sanford and Son’s Beauty Pageant. Peggy also utilized her bachelors degree and was a legal secretary for a local attorney for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents John David Stewart and Annie Mae Stewart, and brothers Joseph and Otis Stewart.
Ms. Stewart is survived by (3) brothers: Mr. Larry (Shirley) Stewart of Richmond, VA; Mr. James (Ethelene) Stewart of Lancaster, P.A. and Prophet Perry (Dapne) Stewart of Elizabethtown, NC. (2) Sisters: Ms. Carolyn Stewart of Elizabethtown, NC and Minister Brenda Stewart of Raleigh, NC. (1) Uncle: Mr. William Wynder of Lancaster, PA and (1) aunt: Margaret Wynder of Miami, Fla. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
