Peggy Jean Casson was born in 1928 in Youngstown, OH. She was the youngest child of Hugh and Mary Neff. She passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Indian Shores, FL. She was living with family.

Peggy graduated from Fitch High School and attended Youngstown Cosmetology School and she received her license as a cosmetologist in 1947.

She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lafayette. While there, she was the first President of the Women’s Society. She is now a member of First United Methodist Church.

On August 28, 1948, she married Eric Casson. They moved to Bloomington, IN where Eric completed his undergraduate degree. Once his degree was completed, they moved to Akron, IN where Eric started his first teaching job. In 1954, they moved to West Lafayette where they continued with Eric’s teaching career and building a family. Peggy eventually pursued a job at Purdue University in the Registrar’s Office, where she remained for 18 years, prior to retiring in 1989.

Peggy was a very active person, enjoying all sports, particularly golf in her later years.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Cynthia Harman of West Lafayette, Deborah (Mike Mclean) Yocum of Indian Shores, FL, Melinda (Paul) Meyer of Lafayette, and Pamela (Steve) Strouse of Fishers; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Hartman, Ashley Hartman (Garrett) Alson, Amber (Damian) VanMatre, Rachel (Eric) Yocum, Jessica Yocum, Matthew Meyer, Eric (Anna) Meyer, Alexandra (Israel) Meyer, Lauren Strouse, and Lindsey (Ben) Strouse Hunter; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Peggy was a loving wife and devoted to her family. She was generous with her time and talents and loved to share with others.

She will be missed by all.
