Peggy Ann Weiss Harvey, 76, of Iona, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 surrounded by loved ones.

Peggy was born September 9, 1936, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to Margaret Elizabeth Bailey Weiss and John Joseph Weiss. She was the oldest of five children. Her family moved from Pennsylvania to Blythe, California, where she attended school. She graduated from Pasadena City College with an AA, AS, and a nursing degree in 1984.

Peggy married Lorel Dean Harvey on February 24, 1953, and later they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona temple. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They had six children: Lorie, John David (Becky) of Idaho Falls; Lisa (Dr. Marlin) Richardson of Cody, Wyoming; Leanne; Jay Dee (Celeste) of Iona; Michael Dean (Becky) of Shelley; and a foster daughter, Burnetta Peek Knudsen of Missoula, Montana.

Peggy had a variety of jobs in her life. She worked at Dairy Queen in Blythe, California, as a car hop on roller skates, See’s Candy saleslady, school bus driver, she bred and raised show dogs, she was a rare bird breeder, and florist, but her favorite job was being a high risk labor and delivery nurse.
