Peggy Elizabeth Hunt, 80, of Middletown, beloved wife of Adelbert B. Hunt, passed away on Tuesday, November 4th at Middlesex Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lydia (Fisher) Stanley. Peggy was born in Lisbon, CT in 1928, but for most of her life resided successively in Durham and Middletown where she and her husband owned a home. She was employed as a career salesperson for 41 years in two of Middletown’s most remembered department stores, Wrubel’s, Inc. and Shapiro’s. Her impeccable taste in women’s fashion and congenial personality won her a multitude of loyal customers, many of whom became friends. It was not unusual, even in late years, for former customers on seeing Peggy at a chance meeting, to pause to reminisce with her about the legendary Friday nights on Main Street in Middletown in the days of yore.
