Peggy E. (Hudson) Denger, 83, of Greenfield, passed away August 24, 2012. She was born December 16, 1928 in Fortville to the late Kyle and Nelle (Brandom) Hudson. She graduated from the old Fortville High School and went to work at American States Insurance Co. as a policy typist.

Later she was a bookkeeper for her husband’s cement contracting business, served as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Fortville Christian Church, and owned and operated “Peggy’s” women’s clothing store in Fortville. Mrs. Denger was an active member of Fortville Christian Church and Fall Creek Christian Church, serving as a teacher, communion preparer, flower arranger and also as a youth leader. Most recently she was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church.

She also loved baking, gardening, telling jokes and volunteering at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Peggy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald; children: Betsy Hardymon of Indianapolis; Dianne Bennett of Pendleton; Steven (Ned) Denger of Indianapolis; and Joseph Denger of Cumberland; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Denger; and brothers Robert, Jack, Ned and Jim Hudson.
