Peggy Williams Pfluger, 88, of Boerne, Texas, passed away on December 30, 2017.
Peggy was born November 12, 1929 in Cameron County, Texas to Tilman Williams and Avie Harris. She moved to Lyford, Texas at age two. Peggy graduated from Lyford High School and attended Texas College of Arts and Industries in Kingsville. On April 23, 1949, she married Wilburn Pfluger. They had two daughters, Linda and Joan, and the family lived many years on a farm near Bishop, Texas.
Peggy attended Kleberg County School of Nursing in Kingsville, and became an LVN in 1966. She worked in hospitals in Kingsville, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio before retiring. Due to her husband’s failing health, Peggy moved to San Antonio in 1988 and remained there until 2004, when she moved to Menger Springs in Boerne.
Peggy never knew a stranger, had an outgoing personality and made friends easily. She has been described as being self-sufficient and strong in the face of adversity. She was a very caring, compassionate, and devoted wife and mother. God, friends, and family were the center of her life.
Peggy enjoyed watching sports on TV. The Astros and the Spurs were her favorite teams. When she lived on the coast, fishing was her hobby for many years. She was an exceptional bingo player and enjoyed playing games with her family and friends.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Margaret Evans, Shirley Blundell, and Melba Blowey. She is survived by her daughters Linda Patterson (Gary) and Joan Deming (Michael), both of Boerne, granddaughter Eden Higginbotham of Spring Branch, grandson Eric Shelander of San Antonio, and sister Mary Docia Baldridge of Yoakum.
Peggy’s family would like to thank the staff at Cibolo Creek Rehab & Nursing and New Century Hospice for their care and compassion.
