Pedro Zapata, 97, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.
He was born on May 1, 1921 in McFadden, Texas to Jose Guadalupe Zapata & Refugia Dominguez Zapata.
Pedro proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was a veteran of World War II. In his early years he was a barber instructor at Valley Barber College in Harlingen. He was the owner of Zapata’s Grocery Store located in Fair Park. Pedro enjoyed playing golf, was a fan of Tiger Woods, loved dancing & tejano music, and liked the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Epifania Zapata; son, Pete Zapata Jr.; brother, Pablo Zapata; and his parents.
Pedro is survived by his loving family to cherish his wonderful memory, daughters, Mary Lou Zapata Ledesma (+Rosendo), Yolanda Zapata Ramirez (Jorge), & Gloria Zapata Davila (Lambert Jr.); grandchildren, Ross Ledesma, Michael Ledesma, Kathy Chavez, Steven Zapata, Zedrick Zapata, Jorge Ernesto Ramirez, Johanna Ramirez, Tamara Davila, Lambert “Tito” Davila III, Eloy Davila, & A.J. Davila; 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
