Pebble LaQuinn “Quincy” Allen, age 67, died at Scott & White Hospital in Temple Texas on September 17, 2010. Born February 2, 1943 in Brownwood Texas, to Jack and Fannie Fay “Skeeta” Cooper, Quincy attended Rockwood School, Santa Anna High School and graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree.
On March 22, 1965, Quincy married Arlen Allen of Santa Anna, Texas. Quincy taught at Sequin ISD, Sequin, Texas, and then later at Belton High School, Belton, Texas from 1978 to 1998. Quincy and Arlen lived in New Braunfels and Temple, Texas. Quincy was a member of the Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church, the Retired Teachers Association and the Troy Athletic Booster Club. Quincy will be remembered for her many years as a teacher to so many kids. Most importantly she will especially be remembered as “Honeymom” to her grandkids and all of their friends.
Survivors include Quincy’s husband Arlen Allen of Temple, Texas, her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Gil Gregory of Troy, Texas, her son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Debra Allen of Troy, Texas, her five grandchildren Justin, Jordan and Jarrett Gregory of Troy, Texas and Drew and Madison Allen also of Troy, Texas. Additionally Quincy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Charles Sheffield of Temple, Texas. Quincy was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Fannie Fay Cooper of Rockwood, Texas.
