Pearline Joyce Chisholm, the daughter of the late Anna Napper Joyce, was born on May 10, 1932.
As a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she was a former resident of Savannah, Georgia and New York for many years before returning to North Carolina in 1996.
An energetic, high-spirited lady, she carried herself with dignity and propriety. She was a resolute member of Zion Baptist Church. While residing in Georgia, she was a former member of First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and was a retiree of Cone Retreat Nursing Home. A woman of strong religious convictions, she loved her church and was dedicated to its teachings. Her faith in God was evidenced throughout her Christian life.
After several years of illness, Pearline slipped peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, into that realm for which we all aspire, “Life Eternal”. Adored by all who knew her, we thank God for her impacting presence.
Cherishing precious memories of her well-lived life are: beloved husband of 47 years, Leon Chisholm; godchild, Tieshae Lemon; sons, Leon Chisholm, Jr. (Joyce), Leroy Chisholm, John Smalls (Peggy) and Bobby Parker (Pamela); daughters, Brenda Young, Cassie Mae Broussard, Earnestine Washington, Shirley Parker, Rose Stevens (Herbert) and Ethel “Christine” Parker (Michael); sisters-in-law, Mary Young and Cassie Mae Frazier; special neighbors, Sam and Sandy Simmons; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
